Ministries: Littles & Kids

Children and their families are special to God. At Central, we desire to join parents on their life’s journey of sharing God’s love with their family. Our Children’s Ministries includes programs for kids all of ages.

Sunday School:  Every Sunday from 9-10 a.m., kids of all ages participate in an age-appropriate Bible lesson and special activities centered on the biblical theme of the day. They are provided hands-on experience with the Bible.

Littles Preschool Ministry

Central’s preschool ministry includes children from birth to kindergarten. Preschoolers are special in that they develop their faith in Jesus through learning to trust the people around them. Our teachers and volunteers have passed background checks. They also seek to create a safe, trusting environment that teaches about God’s love for our children. Preschoolers are provided the opportunity to learn through age-appropriate methods. We provides a variety of programs that assist parents in laying the foundation for a relationship with Jesus.

Kids Ministry

Central’s Kids ministry is for children in grades 1st – 6th. We provide enriching time of learning and activities that helps build on their foundation of faith. All volunteers and teachers have passed  background checks and gone through training. We teach  all children to learn scripture, to grow their Bible knowledge, and learn more about church work and missions. It is our desire that children enter into a lasting relationship with Jesus and that they understand their vital role in the church.

Kids’ Sunday Night Live:  Every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month from 5:15-7:15PM, kids from 2 years of age through 6th grade are invited to meet up in the Fellowship Hall for a highly energetic and dynamic night of worship focused on fun and Jesus.

Royal Ambassadors:  On Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m., from September through May, boys in 1st-6th grades learn about missionaries and the importance of sharing the good news of Jesus with others.  They are provided with opportunities to share God’s love.

Girls in Action:  On Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m., from September through May, girls in 1st-6th grades  learn about missionaries and the importance of sharing the good news of Jesus with others.  They are provided with opportunities to share God’s love.

Extended Teaching Care (ETC):  During the worship service, preschoolers from birth to three years old (as of September 1) engage in activities and Bible stories that reinforce their Sunday School lesson.

Bible Skills Classes:  On Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m., from September through May, preschoolers from ages 3 to Kindergarten, and kids in grades 1st through 3rd participate in activities designed to help them understand and learn more about the Bible. Activities include learning about the Old and New Testaments and memorizing Bible verses.

Pre-Teen Camp 2023: 3rd-6th graders head to Mt. Lebanon in Cedar Hill, TX for a week of worship, growth, and fun! For more information and how to register, please contact the church office or email raina@cbcjax.net

VBS 2023: Each summer, we invite all completed Pre-K through 6th graders to join us for VBS.  There’s no better way to kick off the summer! Registration for VBS is now open! This year’s theme was ‘Twists and Turns’. The game we call life changes when Jesus enters as a player! Kids who will have completed Pre-K up to 6th grade are invited this summer for a fun week of games, crafts, snacks, music and more importantly – learning how Jesus changes the game for them!
