What can I expect on my first visit?

When you come to Central Baptist Church, you can expect an exciting, safe, and fun learning environment for your entire family.

A member of our First Look Team will meet you at the door with a smile, ready to answer your questions and help you find where you need to go. Just look for the friendly people wearing name tags that say, “Ask Me!”

Just right outside our main Worship Center doors you’ll see our Welcome Desk. There you can inquire about Sunday School classes, pick up a children’s handout and/or quiet bag, and receive a copy of our weekly calendar. You’ll also be able to get a visitor card to hand back to us after the service so we can reach out to you and hear how your experience with us was.

From our pastor, you will hear preaching directly from the Bible. Each sermon will explain a passage of Scripture in its original context and apply the biblical truths to your every-day life. You can expect to learn more about the Bible, how to know God, and how to grow as a Christian.

You will experience dynamic music from our worship team. Our music includes a wide variety of styles and is designed to help everyone in the family connect and engage.

What should I wear?

Wear what you feel is comfortable and appropriate. Some people wear jeans and a t-shirt, while others come in “business casual” attire. We are more concerned about your heart and your needs than we are about your clothing. So dress casually and modestly, and you’ll fit right in.

Where do I take my children?

From birth through fifth grade, you will discover first-class programs for your children that fuse together learning and care with fun. Our Preschool Ministry offers trained teachers, a secure environment, and programming specific to each life stage of a preschooler. The preschool hall is located on the back western side of our campus.
First through fifth graders will find the vibrant Children’s Ministry a place to meet friends and encounter Jesus.

What if I need help?

A member of our First Look Team will meet you at the door with a smile, ready to answer your questions and help you find where you need to go. Just look for the friendly people wearing name tags that say, “Ask Me!”

You can also visit our Welcome Center, located right outside the main Worship Center doors. They’ll be happy to assist you in any way they can.

And last but not least, feel free to also ask any friendly looking face you see walking around. Chances are, they’ve been here for a little while and would be happy to welcome you! We love visitors!

Where can I find directions to the church?

From the intersection of U.S. Highways 69 and 79 (Jackson and Rusk streets), travel about 2 miles east on 79. Our campus will be on your right.

We are conveniently located about 2 miles from downtown Jacksonville, 16 miles from Rusk and 28 miles from Tyler.

Where should I park?

If you are a first-time guest, we’ve reserved some of the best parking right in front of our Worship Center and off the side of the main office just for you. Look for any sign that says “Guest Parking”. If you are a senior adult who needs closer access to our building, you can also park in any spot marked “Senior Adult Parking”.

We also have parking available for single parents and expectant mothers located in the back parking lot near our Preschool Hallway and Children’s Hall. Look for signs marked “Reserved for Expecting and “Solo” Parents“.
