Our Mission
The church has been given a command from Scripture to make disciples. Central Baptist Church has identified 3 ways that we can accomplish this mission: Discover, Develop, and Deploy. Once someone has joined Central, the goal is to Develop (spiritual growth) and Deploy (mission). By properly resourcing believers, the body of Christ will be sufficiently prepared to Deploy into a world of darkness. As the body of Christ engages the lost with the gospel, God will be faithful to save (Discover).
Scripture
The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy.
The Trinity
There is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed as three distinct persons–Father, Son, and Holy Spirit–but without division of nature, essence, or being.
Jesus
Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and suffered and died on the cross. His substitutionary death made provision for the redemption of people from sin. Jesus rose bodily from the grave, ascended to heaven, and now sits at the right hand of the Father where He is the only mediator between God and people and the only means for people to be reconciled to God.
HELP US DISCOVER. DEVELOP. DEPLOY.
Sanctity of Life
All human beings are created in the image of God and are therefore worthy of dignity, respect, and Christian love. All human life, from the moment of conception, is sacred. However, all people are born with a fallen nature and willingly choose to sin as soon as they are morally capable. Sin is ultimately rebellion against God and results in condemnation before God.
Salvation
God loves the world in this way: He sent His Son to suffer and die as the substitute for sinful people. The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ are sufficient to reconcile people to God. All who trust in the person and work of Jesus are saved.
Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.
Christ’s Return
According to His promise, Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly in glory to the earth; the dead will be raised; and Christ will judge all men in righteousness. The unrighteous will be consigned to Hell, the place of everlasting punishment. The righteous in their resurrected and glorified bodies will receive their reward and will dwell forever in Heaven with the Lord.
