Our Guiding Principles

Doing Church vs. Being the Church

Doing Church means coming and being counted while you’re here. Being the Church means living according to your calling! Perhaps it means giving a tithe and following it on mission. Perhaps it means giving (and receiving) forgiveness. Perhaps it means loving Christ more than loving being right. Perhaps it means speaking a word of love instead of a word of judgment.

Christ First

“Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it.’” Matthew 16:24-25

People Above Tasks

“All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.” Acts 2:44-45

Clarity with Passion

“But Peter and John replied, ‘Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to obey you rather than God. For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.’” Acts 4:19-20

Prayer as a Priority

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Acts 2:42

“After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.” Acts 4:31

Expect God to do Great Things

“Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles…” Acts 2:43

“And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:47
